just bought a 1966 coupe need help have questions

I just recently bought a 66 mustang it has orginal fenders caused they match vin but dont know if it is a true gt . Because it has some many extras ad hasnt been driven since the 70s. Its got buckets auto in floor with console. do all etras get put on after fact or at fact its a nice car but need to know if it is a true gt alot of the numbers match up but it has 2 barrel carb. but fact canister says high output its loaded please help thanks  

a true factory GT HAD to be A or K engine code no exceptions. the GT package could be factory direct or dealer installed at time of purchase. 65>disc,sway bar,springs,stripes,fender letters,fog lights,louvered exhaust tips out rear valance,66 type gauges and glove box door, the 66 was the same except the gas cap had GT on it,pony interior was not part of the GT package as my 1st 66 GT had plain interior and i owned it in the late 70's. my first GT was a 65 fastback, my 2nd 66 GT had pony interior , the stang i have now which i have owned for about 28 years is 3rd 66 GT fastback A code and it came with standard black interior. i have seen a lot of FAKES over the years including a friend who was sold a FAKE 66 SHELBY back in the 70's I.D. plate was 1 number past and the car was faked on a factory K code car. if you like the car and didnt buy it for an investment enjoy it. my 66 GT is so modified it would take an act of FORD to stamp it back to original !!! the picture is of me on the left and my friend "FATBOY....R.I.P.", taken 1980 and that was my 2nd 66 GT.  

My 66 GT was a Feb 17 delivery that was a factory order by my father.  It has all the items listed previously and did and does have interior decor package including the pony interior seating etc.  M&M articles have been published on recognizing original GTs.  If you can't find it posted on the technical articles or this site I can try and go find one in my files.  Let me know.
