This is similar to some of my other posts, but I have the money to switch over the edelbrock rpm intake manifold now and I am in a dilemma about whether to go with the 2 bbl carb from edelbrock or if I should go with a 4bbl carb.  I have a 351C 2v so I realize it currently has a 2bbl carb.  Is it best to stick with that set up?  Will a 4bbl carb give me any more power or is it just wasting gas?  If it will give me any boost over the 2 bbl than I will go with the 4 bbl but i don't really know enough about how they work to make this decision yet, can you guys give me some input?  I am going to go with the edelbrock setup, that I know for sure.

a larger cfm 4V carb will give a little more performance than the 2V if the engine is stock. i would recomend an Edelbrock Performer #2750 instead of the performer rpm intake for a stock engine and a 600 cfm holley. i just went through a similar mod with a 351w i have , i got an Edelbrock Performer intake and holley 600 carb the only other mods are compcams extreme energy cam and i bought a set of used AFR 165 heads , 1.675" headers and this is for a Fairlane grocery gitter car. that performer rpm intake is more siuted for a 351c with a higher rpm cam , headers , if your planning on turning about 6500 rpm , the Edelbrock Performer #2750 is the best for stock to very mildly modded. someone else might have a better carb recomendation ,i just like holleys (golleys) !!!

Shifthtis is right on the money. Performer intake with 600 cfm vacuum secondary/electric choke for driver/mild street machine. Good call.
If you keep your foot out of it, the 4V will only use the front two barrels
and give about the same mileage as the 2V but will have the advantage of extra power when you need it.
Seriously checkout the just released Summit Racing Holley based carb. No leaks and easier jet changes. Has all the advantages of the Autolite 4100 and Holley combined using Holley parts and upgrades. Its made by Holley for Summit. Price isn't bad either. I would have definitley bought this if it were available when I bought my Holley 4V a few years ago. Its simialr to old Holley 4010 which I ran on a stroker motor in a '65 Fastback. It was flawless.

Thanks for the responses guys, you affirmed what I was thinking.  I meant to say the performer manifold not the rpm manifold.  Ive read that the performer gives a little better torque than the rpm and that is what I need.  I will have to look into that holley set up but I have had better experiences with edelbrock than I have with the holley equipment so I may stick with it.  Thanks for the advice though, I will have to check it out.
