When I start my 2004 the engine makes a clicking noise as if it needs an oil change. I change the oil every 3000 miles and I know it does not need the oil changed. The clicking stops in a minute or two..but when I start the car if anyone is around they tell me to change the oil...even if I had it done that week or so. Anybody else have this issue or have an idea what the problem is...also does not have fast pickup when going from stop to any speed.

What engine do you have? Could be a sticking or slightly loose hydraulic valve lifter(s)that makes noise when cold and stops after it warms up and expands to take up the excess clearance.
Could be an exhaust manifold leak that makes noise until it gets hot and expands enough to seal the small gap.
Hard to say without more info.
Check your engine air filter. If dirty the computer will compensate for lower air flow but could cause the car to feel like it has a little less pick up.
