65-68 LH CONVERTIBLE INNER FRAME PATCH

I have a rusty, ok, "Really rusty" LF frame rail. It looks good until you get behind the torque box and inside the front of the floor frame support. Can I use the inner frame patch to repair a coupe. Most places selling the part call it a "convertible" piece but it looks, from the picture, like it would work on the coupe.

I replaced the entire front frame rail on the right side and would prefer to not have to do all of that work again.

Anyone have advice?
