The cable goes from the back of the speedo in the dash instrument cluster and out through the firewall at the hole provided near the steering column. Then rearward down along the inside of the frame and over to the tranny. Just run it loose from the dash to the tranny cable receptacle and you'll see logical places for where it should be fastened down with the proper clips. If your clips are missing use small black tie wraps as temporary cable hold downs. Avoid sharp bends or your speedo cable could bind and avoid touching any hot exhaust pipes that could cause problems too.
