Of course everyone knows that the oil pressure gauge is no more than a 20lbs switch and a gauge that reads only 3/4 scale when the switch closes.I would like to change this but I need some suggestions.
Would everybody like the oil pressure gauge to move from 0 to 80lbs or 0 to 100lbs?
If it moves 0-80 lbs, and the pressure is like my 1998 V6 and my 1994, it reads a pretty constant 67 to 75lbs it stays up near end of gauge all day long. (the sender on a V6 is right at oil pump)
The "gauge driver" requires no removal of instrument panel! It is 1.79"Length x 1.79"width x.79" tall! The gauge will read full scale! The gauge works right! Half scale and lower scale readings make sense! I mounted mine on the side of engine compartment fuse box.
If the 0-100lbs gauge is used it will sit near 3/4 of the way up all day long.( of course it will never get to 100lbs on most engines)
The "gauge driver", and sender combination is user preference.
Please Post a Reply which way you would like it to read and any other ideas(it can be made to work both ways easily). I have not tried it on a later mustang than 2000 as of yet.
