Has anyone had this problem?

I have a 68 Stang.  I installed P/S. I purchased a rebuilt control valve and it pulled to one side or the other.  I puchased a new Flaming River control valve and it does the same thing.  I re-adjusted the center nut to 90 lbs still the same result.  The cylinder is new, the pump is remanufactured, and the lines are correctly installed.

Any suggestions?

has the front end ben aligned and if so the caster should be about +2 deg. if its 0 or - that could be the problem, or maybe too much toe.

Hello, and thanks for your response.

The front end has been aligned.  I have had a rebuilt and a new control valve, both determined to be defective.  I received a third new control valve and it works great.

I will have to replace the pressure lines because they have been removed and resealed to many times.  But O'Reily's took care of me at N/C.

Since starting I noticed my oil pressure gage is spiking.  I replaced the wire harness and sending unit. Now I have went from a dead gage or no pressure to all out.  Do you think it might be the wrong ohms on the sending unit?

possibly, i use mechanical gauges but if i needed an electric sending unit i would order one from National Parts Depot or Scott Drake if he has them , both these companies sell top notch mustang parts and correct sending units etc. you can find there info on the web.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for that.  That was my next thought also.  I figured the guys at O'Reilys only knew what their PC showed them.

Still can't believe I had to order 3 control valves to obtain one that worked!
