Wont shift out of park on an automatic. No brake lights. Just replaced the switch on the pedal, still no brake lights. Can't get it out of park unless turn key to acc position, shift into N and then start car. Car runs, but still no brake lights?
Have to pull the knob to simulate brake lights when coming to a stop. Only works while daytime driving. I'm going to get rearended or a ticket.

You need to trace the brake lite circuit voltage through the brake lite switch back into the T Sig switch and anywhere else to goes to do the unlock of the trans. Did you look for a blown fuse?

Yea, fuse isn't blown.
I should mention, one of the wires was burnt at the terminal connection that plugs onto the brake pedal switch, There's 2 wires, one was burnt at the terminal.
Car sat for a couple weeks, battery was dead. Had to jump the car last night. Drove around the parking lot for 20 min, shut it down, it cranked back up. Went out this morning to see if it would crank. It's dead. I suspect there's a short and it's draining my battery.
The black plastic housing that goes over the switch is gone. I looked at my other 04 and it has a plastic housing. The bad car has different female blade terminals ends that plug onto the brake pedal switch. So whoever had this problem before has already replaced the female blade ends. This apparently has happened before on this car. This bites....I hate electrical gremlins.
