I am trying to find out what I have. I have a suppose to be 200ci in my 65 coupe and I recently bought a suppose to be 200ci Jasper engine that I want to put in its place. My question is the motor in my mustang looks just like the jasper but one thing is different,on the original motor if you are looking straight at it from the front just up from the oil filter and to the left of the distributer it has three bolt holes maybe where the alternator bolts? Ok on the jasper engine in the same area it only has two bolt holes and in the center is a freeze plug.Did ford change the block a little on the later motors or what? Also both motors have the old three speed manual transmission .The original in the car has around 10 bolt holes on the bell and the jasper has 13 or 14 bolt holes. Also the end of the original transmission has a rubber boot or seal on it where the driveshaft connects while the jasper does not I was told by a gentleman he belives the original motor is probably the original 200. And the Jasper is a newer 200 probably 67 or newer does this sound right . Any Help would be appreciated.

Try the forum on fordsix.com, they are experts on these motors. Don't blame me if you end up spending a fortune on performace parts.
