Hi, Can someone please tell me how to adjust my passenger door in my 65 coupe. When open I hold the end and lift it, there appears to be no movement in the hinges, which indicates the hinges are in good condition.
The problem is the door sits to low; the front of it catches on the sill beneath the bottom hinge. Also the lines in the door panel are lower than the lines in the front fender. How do I lift the door, so all lines match and it does not catch the sill?
Thank you readers, look forward to your posts.
p.s. this is my first mustang purchased about 6 months ago. So I have lots to learn!!

Welcome to the vintage Mustang world. You might think about buying a reproduction service manual from a Mustang resto shop. There is a whole section on aligning body and dooor panels among everything else you might want to know. Bottom line is that if everything else looks good but the door is just too low you will have to cafefully loosen the front hinges where they attach to the body and jack the door up as much as needed to be aligned properly and then retighten. Do a trial and error approach until the door fits right. Run a piece opf masking tape under the hinge where it is now so you will have a base line to work from. If the door is 1/4 inch too low then move the hinges up 1/4 inch from the tape line as a starting point. Enjoy your new ride and hobby.
