Where is the best place to position Axle Stands at the front end of 65 coupe?

Under the front corners where the strut rod brace/frame rail and radiator support come together for up front work.
Further back behind the front wheel well under the unibody frame rail for firther back work.
I always put a small thin piece of plywood beween the car and the jack stand to spread the load and prevent scratching or denting the underside of the car
