I have a modified 351 windsor n am wondering which carb would be best. Right now it has a 600 edelbrock im thinking of maybe a 670 holley street advenger or should i stick with my edelbrock.  Any thoughts ? Thanks

Both good carbs. I have used both in various engines. The Holley street avenger is a nice out of the box carb. I always like the edelbrock carbs because they don't have power valves to go bad on you and they are a little more tuneable when you have the various metering rods. It used to be Holleys(and Ford carbs to a lesser degree) were sensitive to backfires which would cause the power valve to blow its diaphragm. the design has been changed to make it less sensitive although it still happens. I think they are both good choices.

I'm in the same camp as Mech guy here too -worked on both (back in the day they were called Carter AFB's usually found on the MOPARs) and I changed a lot of power valves in Holley's in my day due to a lean backfire.
But I would lean towards the Holley just from a visual perspective (there's something about the sight of a Holley up top that just implies HI-PO.
To confirm mech guys statement, I also recall reading somewhere that Holley has improved their power valves to live better with lean pop back conditions.
