I have called several places and searched the web looking for a roll bar for a 89 convt. I dont race the car just want a little safty in case of the worst. My wife has issues with my kids driving the convt after my daughter rolled a taurus. She was fine, bumps and scrapes, but if she had been in the mustang she would no longer be with us. So, I know someone has to build a bolt in for these cars!? Does anyone know who? Where? I dont want to go full race with bars going everywhere. I want somthing like the 68 KR Shelby has.

Thanks, If you can help i'd be greatful!

A couple of companies make bolt-in solutions, though a four-point (rear bars going towards the trim panels/seats)would be the safest versus just a hoop, which can collapse.

there are several variations in designs..   please don't stop at the first one you find...

i would have imagined that a double loop or even a triple loop...  with a fairing either of molded urethane foam or a rigid plastic top/molded foam lower 2/3s so its strong and stylish and the top will still fold over it..

creative people will have the aero style cover that can be removed and reinstalled.. bolted through holes between the loop bars  so it can be removed and painted using rubber or plastic bumper painting methods..  or bolted front and back..  more than just snaps..

i have NOT researched what's available..

benz... on some factory models of roadsters.. starting in the early 90s.. had POP UP roll over bars...  if you got it in some odd angle other than 4 wheels down.. the massive rollover bar snapped up.. if the top was down or not.. there is a video of somebody in europe getting out of control and turning their benz turtle... the guy at the end of the video crawled out and walked away...
