This screw was under the windsheild trim it was next to one of the trim clips, Why?

these are T stud screws



special to hold the trim clips..

does this answer your question...


the STUD welders for doing body work...   SOME brands of them also have weld in TEE studs..



i seem to also recall.. that there might be a POP RIVET option.. but i might be mistaken..


which ever version you use.. except welding.. that you will want to paint around..

use some kind of sealing material to stop the SCREW and the HOLE it goes through from rusting..   if you put a tiny dab of seam sealers.. or even some window weld.. either liquid or rope form.
