Carlite glass

I'm currently going through the strip down phase of my 73 Mach 1 restoration. I've just removed the rear glass and was wondering whether anybody out there has had original glass polished for using again and how it went?  

hi 73machresto.im a windscreen fitter by trade ...if you run a blade at 90% to the scratches and hear clicking as the blade glides across.those scratches will not come out. with the buffers and polish we use..it will pretty the problem up alittle bit, and also warp your glass at the same time at every spot attempted.. i would grin and bear it till you locate a better rear window.
