My son and I restoring a 1966 mustang coupe.  It was someone else's project before ours.  As we are putting it together, it sometimes was missing bolts and some we just want to replace- 40 years of rust.

While we have the Ford Shop Manual, exploded view diagrams and some other various manuals, many give bolt torque specs but don't tell what the specs for the bolts, are.  Such as their size, thread count, length, etc.

Is there a good manual or source that lists all of the various engine, drive train, etc. bolt specifications?

Any help would be appreciated.

I've not seen anything that lists bolt size, tpi, and length specs. That would most likely be on some ancient engineering drawing...

I know it can get expensive if you buy EVERY bolt you need for your project, but I'd take a look at the AMK fastener kits offered by all of the major Mustang parts vendors. They are packaged by application and part and the bolts are the correct length, tpi, and even finish for the application. It's so nice to simply tear open a bag and install brand new bolts.

I used the AMK hardware on my '66 Mustang restoration for the engine, interior, and body and it made things so easy!

HTH...

In addition to MustangMan's advice, I just got a copy of the Mustang factory Engine Assembly Manual - and it does have bolt specifications!

HI,
In addition to what others have offered, add to your list....
"Guide to Ford Fasteners", an AMK product. This has all the dimensional and finishing specs. Happy Trails today......
