I have installed a new Aluminum Radiator and electric fan thermostat is a 160 deg, The car runs well in reg temps but when it gets above 80 degs out then she runs about 210 deg. I was told that my car should not run over about 185 deg reg no matter what. I do not know if this is true, but I'd love to be able to enjoy the car more without it getting Hot @ 210 deg.
I was also told that if you have a vacuum leak your car can run hot as well???

New motor 347 new trans with cooler AOD, new hoses and new radiator and fan. does not boil over much after driving just a little overflow.

What can I do to check and fix , so I my enjoy my car more??

Thanks all

change to a 192F thermostat... so the system can properly cycle...

210 is not that hot.. but at that temp the 160 or even a 180 thermostat will be wide open and flowing way too much through the radiator for the electric fans to ever have a chance of cooling the stopped hot coolant in the radiator...

you are creating a lot more heat with that 347..

Well after time and error, installed a 195 and now car works well runs about 199 or 200 sitting 195 while driving , thanks again for the input. I would have never thought to change the thermostat from a 160.

Happy hot rodding
