Need help identifying what this part is

The below picture is of a part that was found on the drivers side floorboard, next to the headlight high/low foot switch. It had two hoses attached to it that ran out through the firewall. This is a 65 coupe that has provisions for windshield washers, but only has the spray nozzles intact. I tend to think this is part of the washer system, but do not find it in any parts catalogs,etc. There are no part numbers or manufacturer information printed on the part. Anyone know what this is, what it does, and where I can get a new one?

I am having difficult attaching the photo. Will try again in this post. But, this is a round part, almost looks like a ball cut in half, about the size of half a tennis ball. It has two connections coming outof one side of the ball to which the hoses were connected. The top is very firm - meaning it does not move if you step on it. Part

Without seeing the part, I would assume that it is the windshield washer fluid pump. My 67's had what you described. I think I have seen them in a couple parts catalogs, but it has been a while since I looke dthrough any of them. A call to one of the parts suppliers should get you on the right track.

It does indeed sound like a '67-'68 washer pump. Does it have a little foot lever on it to pump? The '65-'66 washer system was electric (not sure why Ford switched for those two years to the foot pump style). It is possible someone retrofitted it to your car, but the '65 (if optioned with washers) would have a pull type wiper switch with an electric pump mounted on the inner fender of the driver's side, beneath the washer fluid bag/bracket.
BTW, you can't post a pic directly from your PC. You need to have the image "hosted" somewhere. Either a personal web server/page or a photo sharing site like Photobucket, Flickr, etc.

THanks for the guidance on loading picutre. Any clue waht this is? There is no foot lever installed in the car. It does sound easier to just abandon this part and install a new fluid bag and washer pump.

No photo. Says it's a gif image instead of jpg. may be the problem.

Yes, a jpg is the prefered image type, but a gif should work I would think. Same with a bmp (bitmap) file.
