I have a 66 fastback. My problem is the back corners of the hood always stick up about 1/4". Every time I close the hood I have to physicaly push the corners down. Is there any trick to adjusting the hinges to resolve this?
Are your hood springs the correct ones? And if yes, some of the hinge to inner fender bolt holes may be adjustable, to change its angle or try putting shims between either both front or both back hood mounting bolts (4). It might relieve some of the pressure that is pushing the rear of your hood up. the shimming may allow the hinge to sit oddly without forcing your hood too sit oddly as well.
HelloA bit too complicated for me to explain well. Some repo hinges do this and their adjustment holes require a bit of modification to correct it.Orig hinges might be worn at the pivot points. If your paint is nice be very careful.Try dropping whole hinge down, if that doesn't work then put rear of hinge all the way down and the front up as much as possible. Don't let rear of hinge creep up on you during this adjustment. You need your rear hood stops.
