Getting ready to drop a Ford Racing X302D in my 64.5. Swapping to a 100A one wire alternator set up at the same time. Keeping my Eaton PS pump because it just looks cool. I'm trying to figure out all the details beforehand to minimize downtime waiting for parts I didn't know I needed. Curious what the best option is for pulley's. The engine comes with a 4 bolt balancer. The 3 bolt one to use the old pulley's is an additional $200. An entire 4 bolt underdrive blingin March V belt pulley set up is not much more than that. Couple questions...Is the original V8 crank pulley with a generator even the same as the 65's with an alternator set up? CJ sells a separate one for Generators is the only reason I ask. My old pulleys would need to be blasted and repainted but if the crank pulley isn't going to work right when I switch to an alternator there's no point in even trying to keep the existing pulley set up. If I go with the March kit is the alignment compatible with the Eaton PS pulley? I haven't seen any aftermarket pulley's for that pump set up. Finally there seems to mixed emotions about sufficient cooling with an underdrive pulley set up. I see March also does one that speeds up the water pump rather than slow it down. Seems that would rob even more power with a stock fan set up. I'm sticking with the original cooling set up for right now. Any info or thoughts would be great. Sooo many options out there for set ups its overwhelming.
